Power Steering Problem
Power Steering Problem
I started my TL-S a couple of weeks ago, and heard a very loud whine, like a bearing going out. When I turned the steering wheel, it got louder. I new it was the power steering pump. Car sat for a week to get the appointment to bring it in. They called me to tell me that the power steering rack was leaking, and that I had no fluid left. Only 3200 miles on the car! They are going to replace it, but it has been there for a over a week now, and still no parts!!!! Anyone else have any steering issues? By the way, this TSX loaner.....SUCKS!!!!!
New cars are made from new parts bought from the lowest bidder assembled who knows where by the cheapest labor and shipped to Ohio
And you want to know why this happened???
Parts fail- humans work on cars
One of the reasons to have first maitenance done at dealer is they are supposed to be looking for problems a new car may face- trans seals- engine oil leaks- wheels falling off
AND the owner should be checking underhood fluids and tire pressures at least once a month- more is better
Note to all- if your new car makes noise or leaks anything- you dont need an appointment!!!! just take it in and speak with the Service MANAGER about the problem

Well looks like you just got a bad rack with a pinched seal. From working at honda i have replaced several of these, its just a mistake in the manufacturing process of the rack. I recently replaced a rack on a new 06 accord with about the same mileage as your car, it happens! As for them having your car for over a week, at my dealership when parts are under warranty honda pays for them to be overnighted to the dealer so that the customer will have their car returned to them asap, im kind of wondering why they didnt do the same.
I agree! There was no reason to have my car for so long. They called today to say it was done. I went and picked it up. It now pulls hard to the left, they claim that they did an allignment, but based on the odometer, no test drive. They also replaced my battery. The clip to the cover is broken, and the cover on the engine must have been set on the ground because it is all scratched up. They were closed when I called them back, so I will be going back in the morning. What next?

I called this morning, they want the car back, and promise that I will have everything fixed within 2-4 hours. Had it on the freeway this afternoon, very sloppy, changes lanes by letting go of the wheel. They did NOT test drive the car!
