Power Steering Noise when Warm - Bubbles in Reservoir

2005 TL makes power steering whine after engine is warmed up (20minutes of driving), and not before.

I did a search before posting, most articles are about Power Steering Whine when Engine Cold, that goes away when Engine Hot.

Some air bubbles observed in P/S reservoir.

Will the o-ring help at all?
Anyone else have experience with this?

Really would like to avoid the expensive p/s replacement, as they cost around $400

Normally the O ring condition is seen/heard when cold, so I would say that air is being introduced into the system. Check the system to see if any wet spots and make certain all fittings are tight, and it goes without saying, make certain level is correct. If all fails the O ring replacement isn't an expensive test.

+1 on the o-ring. It was $0.71 for me in FL, test that and if that doesn't help I'm afraid you have a bigger problem.

your problem is the O-ring. Very inexpensive and easy to fix.

Will do, I've been putting this off because of grad school's schedule, and noticed the sound is getting worse...

Does this noise (or whatever causes it) progressively kill the power steering pump if unaddressed? I've had it for 5 months now

Will work on this next week during our break.

It's very easy and takes about 5 minutes.
I used this: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/diy-105-power-steering-whine-fix-754586/

I'd fix it sooner rather than later. Mine did it the day after I bought the damn thing and I had it fixed within a week.
