Possible Broken PCD Solution

So after cracking my 2nd rear pre cat delete I tried to experiment with some permanent fixes. The engine was jerking just enough to put stress on the welds so I removed the center and replaced it with a flex joint. This will provide relief for the welded sections. As the engine jerks the flex joint will allow it to move in either direction. Any thoughts or ideas or maybe something I am overlooking?

Great idea!

What's the part number for that flex-pipe?

Will you be doing this to the front PCD also?

My only concern is that it won't last very long being so close to the head...+1 for test of longevity.

Just the rear for now. I haven't had any issues with the front. There really isn't a part number. Its just a flex joint with 2 1/2" piping. The flex joint itself is 4". I found this on Ebay for under $20.

Good idea, many use heavier mounts if they are available, but with the heavier mounts motor vibrations transmit into the passenger compartment and many cars have a flex pipe from the factory, e.g. Maxima/Infiniti.

I'm curious to know how the flexpipe will change the sound when used on the PCD. Give us an update once you install it.

What engine mounts are you using?

I sent UA6 a PM a few days ago:

No issues so far. Shouldn't be a problem since that is what they're made for.

He doesn't post much, but I dig that he's an innovator and thinks outside the box to find solutions.
