depending on surface
it wont totally eat the pads but will cause faster wear as the pads mate to the rotor imbalances in the surface
when you can get new rotors you will need new pads again

and you will have reduced braking power now

why wont anyone resurface the rotors- are they so bad that cutting them will remove too much material
there is a minimum thickness on rotors- and thats minimum-taking into account the have to last a while before they wear out totally

decent cheap rotors can be found at kragen/oreilly or autozone

there are many places to get it done- most parts stores for 5 bucks or so
BUT if the rotor is trashed and scored badly- there wont be enough material available after its cut down to keep it above the minimum thickness

if the rotors are too thin- the caliper has to extend farther to push it--everything gets messed up..

then no shop will turn them for you

Rock Auto has front rotors for $29 each, and pads for $20.
Guess if money is that tight, fix the brakes, sell the TL, then buy an inexpensive knock around car.

c'mon thats the fun of interpreting whatever language that was!!

The lack of real information is the problem for diagnosis on this one
whats wrong with the rotors- did OP wear the brakes down to zero MM pad and gouged the rotors.. as they were literally metal to metal to stop the car?
