Pointer, wiper, head lamp malfunction

The outside temperature display below the trip is displaying (---) and my head lamp, wipers, pointers and AC don't work. Until it returns to displaying figures, only then will all the above listed functions start working.
I just noticed for a week now, once the outside temperature display goes blank (e.g ---), my head lamp, pointers, wiper and AC stops working. This is really fascinating for me. Until the outside temperature display comes back to showing a reading (e.g 88F) then all these functions start working again. I would like to know what exactly is responsible for this so it can be fixed. Thanks

Get a New battery and see if that fixes it. Low voltage or bad batteries can have weird symptoms

Check voltage first with multimeter.
