I just noticed this today while sitting in my car. My speedometer needle twitches every 2 minutes. The car is off. No key in the ignition.
whats happening and is this drawing power? I already have the parasitic draw from the damn malfunctioned HFL.

Have you tried disconnecting your car battery for 5 minutes and then reharnessing it? I read in a different car forum that this worked for his BMW. Not sure if it'll do the same for our TL but it's worth a shot.

Does the click come from the speedo itself or is it a relay?
I would at least unplug the bad HFL unit and see what happens. It looks like most of these stop doing this when the door is opened which if I remember right turns the HFL off when you're on a phone call. It could be HFL rebooting or whatever it is that it does while it's sitting there draining the battery while you're away.
