So it seems to come and go, but there is a weird sound that gets louder when i turn my wheel left or right. It also is there when going straight and when i let of the gas gets a bit quieter also. But it does't always happen. Does this seem like the power steering o ring issue that i see many people have had?

I looked to see if mine was under the recall with power steering issues and it was not.

 

What kind of a "weird sound" are you experiencing?

Please describe the sound-- squeal, squeak, clatter, booming, grinding, rumble, chirping, explosion, song by Al Yankovic-- because it may be steering, bushings, wheel bearings, axles, etc.

Also, what year TL, and auto or manual trans?

 

Maybe this doesn't help as it could only be my car. But every since i bought it i feel like it always makes a slight sound when turning. Now it just sounds a lot louder. But if that doesn't help it almost sounds like the sound cats make when mad....sort of..like a wahh kind of sound. nothing like anything you described. It just gets louder also the more i turn the wheel.

I have a 2008, automatic.

A hiss? Or a yowl?

If it's a hiss, it might be the power steering low side O-ring mentioned in the thread that NBP04TL4ME linked in the post above. The only difference is that you mentioned the noise on your car gets louder with speed.

Check your power steering fluid when the car is idling in "Park" and advise of the fluid level and whether any bubbles appear in the fluid in the reservoir. If the fluid is low, fill it to the indicated line.

 

That is what it is. I just found a video on youtube and it is the exact sound. thanks for the help!
