Please Help!!! Drivers Auto Up Stops Half Way!!!
So, my drivers window will not go all the way up in auto mode. It will get about half way up, and you can actually see the entire window shift forward and it stops, and goes back down about 2 inches. I took it in once for this, they said they adjusted the tracks or whatever, and it went away for a while. It just came back recently, and when I was there, they told me the tech would lube the channels, well, still did not take care of it, and now they are trying to blame it on window tint!!!! :angryfire
Anyways, it's in again because they were replacing the leather on my drivers seat, the new leather had two cuts in it, and he messed up the motor for the up/down motion on the seat, so now they ordered me an entire new drivers seat bottom, frame, motors, everything....that's why it's in today.
I'm sick of asking them to do the window but I need to know what I can do about it.....it's like the window is loose in there, and now they tell me there is no way to adjust the track when they did it once before......what a crock.
Any ideas???
Thanks,
John

My passenger window has done this as well. They said nothing is wrong with the car, even though the window rattles in the door if its not all the way up or down. Ill try to get some video if i ever get my car back, and maybe we can get them to do something if we show other people with common problems.
How did you get the leather replaced?

it was cracking really bad, so I mentioned it, and he said "OK, well get you some new leather for the seat bottom." Well, the new leather was ripped as well, and they messed up my seat, so today it's in for another leather cover, and an entire new seat bottom.....

what is happening is that the glass is encountering some type of obstruction that forces the motor to the stop point as which it stops and rolls back down. In this case replacing the regulator will not do anything. What you have to do is find and figure out how to get rid of the obstruction in the window.

thats just the think, there is nothing in the track and they cleaned it and lubed it. Like I said before though, the window just shifts forward like it's just hitting a spot in the track with a little more pressure, then goes back down.....and it's intermittent as well, more-so when it's colder out, below 50*

I had to pull on my door panel HARD to close the window. It wouldnt go up on the verge of a typical florida rainstorm. It never drizzles here by the way.
I need to have my leather looked at, its falling apart!

well, they replaced my regulator and all is well now. The window actually seems to even close firmer and seems more solid compared to before. mention this to them. When I told him about the TSB, he was surprised the tech didn't know of it....

Hmm! This happens to my car, both driver and passenger sides... I'll give this fix a look before the situation gets worse. Funny thing though... it seems to happen more when it's hot out, not cold.
Ugh. I hate going to dealers........................................... .......... :thief: (<--- BTW... am I the only one who thinks this smiley is racist?)

Had the same problem except it would stop half way once it tried to go up! Had the window regulator replaced twice now and its doing it again mostly when its hot outside!! I talked to the dealer he says this is a common problem and they replace at least one a week!! Im tired of messing with it so i think i will just deal with it the way it is!!

damn...that sucks. I had my regulator replaced and have had no problems so far. Although, now that you mention it, my passenger side auto up did stop working one day, only did it twice though, and never again....
