Pedal Vibration

So, ever since I got my new XXR 527 wheels, I have been having pedal vibration at 60+ and it goes on and off. It will vibrate for 5 secs, it will go back to normal for 5 secs etc. It also vibrates even worse when I accelerate fast from a 50-60. I had my tires re-balanced twice so that's not it. Tires Plus said it might be my rotors going bad? My buddy says it could be the alignment because I upgraded from 17 to 18s. Idk what to do at this point, it's getting really annoying.

And idk if this might be it or not, but I doubt it. My cai rubber mount thing broke off somehow. I noticed when I took off my bumper painting my grille. Might this be the problem? I didn't experience the vibration with my old wheels, so prolly has nothing to do with it...

I have XXR 527's too and feel a slight vibration, but nothing as bad as yours. Do you have hub centric rings installed? If you're not familiar with them, they fill in the gap between the XXR's center bore and our wheel hubs. I've also had my wheels balanced and got a wheel alignment. Your CAI shouldn't have an affect on steering vibration. Also, I went to two different shops to get my wheels balanced because one shop did not have their wheel balancer calibrated.

Yes, I do have hubcentric rings. I found out from my buddy on here that I need to find a gsp9700 which I'm sure that's not what Tires Plus are using. I'm about to find a place that has them and go there. Also, my steering wheel vibrates too so I am now sure it is my balance.

I just had them road force balanced, steering wheel vibration is completely gone.. But some vibration in the gas pedal is still there vibrating on and off, mostly while accelerating at a speed like 60+. It's not too bad of a vibrating until I accelerate at a speed. Someone said it might be my rotors touching. What do you guys think? I really need to fix this as it's really getting to me. I have wasted probably a full tank of gas going to Tires Plus twice now for them to re-balance it, and just drove 35 mins to the rim shop to get it road force balanced and spent another $60. This fucking BLOWS...

Have you gotten an alignment? I always get one when I get new tires. I'm not 100% that this is causing your issue, but it will help to rule out toe as a cause of your vibration. If that doesn't fix it. Definitely inspect your rotors to see if they are rubbing the pads significantly in certain spots of the rotor.

I have not. I was planning to do that later once I drop it, but I'm sure that's not what is causing the vibrations. I took it to the dealership for a diagnostic today and they checked motor mount, axle, suspension etc. and everything seems to be fine. Road force balance also checks out ok. They said it could be the tires not fitting well with my XXRs? I have the Falkens 912s and I haven't heard anything bad about them. So far, I have paid $60 for road force balancing them and another $85 for diagnoses and I STILL don't know what the HELL it is!! Rims AND tires are brand new, so it can't be a bent rim

I am taking it to Tires Plus where I got the tires mounted on them tomorrow to see if they can figure it out...

you need to rule out or test.
swap back to stock for the time being, to test.

rotate the rims, etc. to test.

I have no tires on them
I exchanged the tires I bought on them for the ones I have now on my XXRs. I will try rotating them

My front rotors are warped, but that should only make you vibrate when you are breaking.

My rotors were warped also but like you said it was only noticeable when braking. Went with the brakemotive rotors and the problem is gone. I also had a wheel shake at around 75-80+ mph and got my compliance bushings in the lower control arms replaced. Fixed the problem. I'd bet acura would've caught that though when you took it in if that were your problem. Maybe get an alignment just to rule that out?

edit: just realized you got your steering wheel vibration taken care of. Don't give up on the pedal vibration though!

Compliance bushings? I DID notice that my steering wheel still slighly shakes with the pedal/floor. The dealership could have forgotten to check that. I will ask them again. Hopefully this might be it. If not, I have to give up. I took it to like 4 places so far lol. Thanks!

DatDereTL, let me know if new compliance bushings removes the steering wheel vibration. If it does, I may have to do this too.

I had my wheels rebalanced and alignment redone and nothing fixed the wheel shake until I got the bushings done. Now I could take my hands off the wheel at 80 mph and it would stay perfectly steady (not that I would haha).

This pretty much sums up my symptoms.

Before I got aftermarket rims and dropped my TL I could cruise at 80mph and got no vibration from wheel. I got an alignment and my tires have been balanced, but still get a slight vibration at the wheel. However, the vibration gets bad over 85mph, but can still be handled. I hope once I get the bushings installed, I get he same results as Dsrtne1.

My local Acura dealer wanted 600 for the bushings, an independent Honda/Acura shop did the bushings on my moms 3G for 299 but I got mine done under warranty at a Honda dealer while it was there for the timing belt service. Luckily I didn't have to pay for it but on the invoice it was about 230 including parts and labor. It said the bushings were 35 each and the rest was labor. So it looks like a Honda dealer might be the cheapest place to get it done but I'd still search around and see if you can get it done cheaper.

Pedal can be rotors..but you have aftermarket wheels so that could do it..

You guys have no idea what a vibration is..part of the reason i am dumping my G35x...2 sets of wheels..3 sets of tires..and 5 balances...new brakes..and my car shakes BAD over 70...problem can't be found..

sucks man..i know all too well vibrations suck..i commute on highway and my whee1 shakes .5-1 inch back and forth..thats how bad it is..infiniti said my car is perfect as did 3 other mechanics...major reason why i am trying to dump it.

do you have you your old wheels and tires to put back on to see if it fixes it?

Wow man, mine is not that bad. How can they tell you that's perfect? I do not, they got sold a couple of days ago

But I DID take it to a great mechanic today and he spent almost 2 hours and a half looking through the entire car at $0 charge unlike Honda. They spent prob less than that on it and told me everything was perfect, and I paid $85. Anyways, he found that my right axle is bad/wobbly, and that also my rotors need to be resurfaced. He said that COULD cause vibrations and suggested for me to resurface them.

I asked him why I didn't feel vibrations with my OEM wheels/before I got these rims and he said I would feel it more with the new aftermarket wheels. Is this true?

I had the same issue. If it is vibrating only on acceleration its most likely that the axles are bent. I just bought a 07 and both the axles were bent. It only vibrated when accelerating around 70 mph... The dealer replaced both under warranty.

It gets worse when accelerating around 65-70 but still vibrates on and off when normally cruising at that speed...

OP couple things for you:

1> Vibrations when braking at high speeds: Warped rotors
2> Vibrations when driving between certain speeds: Balance issues, Bent rim, bubble in tire, axle, hub-centric rings
3> Vibrations when at a stop: Vac line, mounts

your in point 2 over there....get those things checked out and you will be fine

Did you put the stock wheel back and test it out and to confirm that its the aftermarket wheel that is giving you the vibration?

bring your car back to the shop and ask them for a wheel alignment and balancing...

quickly check your tires and see the rotations ---arrows should be pointing forward..
