Passenger Seat Airbag Sensor

Hey guys,

I've search throughout the forum to find out if anyone has been having trouble with their seat sensor not reading weight correctly and turning off the passenger airbag when an adult is sitting.

I want to be clear this it's not the seat buckles. But the actual sensor under the seat. Those that have posted, didn't get any replies to the issue or the thread basically turned into the seat buckle issue.

Is there anyone that knows of a good post about it or a DIY would be very helpful. I would like to replace it and know the part number. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you guys for your time.

Okay, so I found the part numbers for the seat weight sensors:

81167-SEP-A12 (Outer)
81168-SEP-A12 (Inner)

Has anyone ever tried to take out their seats? Is it fairly simple?

I believe its just 4 bolts and unplugging the power/heated seat harness. Should be a straight forward job. But isn't anything to do with the airbags covered for life by the dealer?

The airbags are, but not the sensors which suck. They run about $170-$220 each. So now trying to debate if I should buy new or check out a 3G that just came into my local Honda/Acura OEM junkyard (04/29) and pulling it from there. They have a couple, but I want to pull from a "fresh" one.

I've pulled stuff from there a couple of times and they have a no hassle return policy if it doesn't work which is great.
