Here's what I've been noticing with my TL. Whenever I put my laptop case on my front passenger seat, the "passenger airbag off" light will turn on and off. Most of the time it would come on when I have stopped for a red light and turn off when I'm driving away. Is this normal? I want to believe that the light is suppose to remain on when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat.

It's normal- the seat sensors detect a light amount of weight on the seat and turn the airbag off on the assumption that it is a child + car seat.
Your laptop + case is probably just about the weight that triggers the sensor. Either put the laptop on the floor or put more weight on the seat (add a spare laptop battery to the case) to stop the intermittent switching.

yea. my girlfriend sits sideways and funny in the car all the time. sets the sensor off. its not just the TL either. ALOT of cars will do the same thing.

yeah it all depends on the weight if light than the car detects that there a baby on board and the seat belt turns off untill you add more weight on it than it'll be turned on haha
