Parking Brake Not Working
Purchased an 07 TL Type-S less than two months ago and the parking brake isn't working. Stopped working at about 500 miles and didn't do anything crazy like drive with the PB on. Car drifts after setting the brake but when I pull up the PB lever there is resistance. Think that I just need to adjust the PB. Does anyone know what the problem could be? If I do need to adjust the PB, how would I do this?
Welcome to the forums.
You should take an almost brand new 07 to the dealer, instead of trying to fix it yourself, so that if you do something wrong you don't mess up your warranty.
If you are too far from a dealer, or just want to do it yourself, check out this thread. https://acurazine.com/forums/technology-16/how-can-i-convert-windows-media-file-play-mac-quick-time-144405/

Thanks. Thought I could avoid going to the dealer if there was an easy fix that could be done myself. Doesn't seem to be the case based on the repair manual instructions for parking brake adjustment. Better safe than sorry, I'll take it to the dealer.
A little drift is normal. If you come to a stop, put the car in park, then set the handbrake you will notice the car move a bit after you take your foot off the brake.
Try this instead. Come to a stop, engage the handbrake, then take your foot off the brake, you'll notice the car drift a bit then stop.
The hand / emergency brake has it's own set of shoes that apply pressure to a drum built into the inside of the rear rotor. It does not apply holding / braking via the rear pads . . that would be bad. The motion or drift you might be referring to is from the car settling onto those shoes.
Before you take it to the dealer try engaging the emergency brake and driving away. You'll probably find quite a bit of resistance in addition to a message from the MID telling you to release the handbrake.
If you don't, then you do in fact have a problem.

I noticed my 07 does the same "drift" for a few inches then locks in. I have always shifted to "N" set the PB then shifted into "P" so that there is no binding on the transmission. Try parking on a hill and shift to "P" before you set the PB. You'll set what happens when you go to shift out of "P" - you can tell there was binding.
