Parking brake making werid noise

Since yesterday I noticed my parking brake making clunking noises whenever I set it after putting my car into neutral. Is this normal or can I get it fixed under warranty?

I put the car into neutral and then hand brake and then into park. It never did this clunking noise before and only started yesterday.

Are you sure the car isn't actually rolling back slightly when it's in neutral? I've had that happen before (it's kinda like a thunking sound - somewhat alarming) and it was because I didn't pull the parking brake enough to get it to hold the car in place.

The parking brake lever also feels a little funny, it doesn't have the resistance it used to have. Is there something wrong or am i just paranoid?

you can always get the parking brake adjusted - it's normal for it to loosen up over time on these cars.

It sounds as if the parking brake is severely out of adjustment and may not be engaging when you pull up the handle. Have it adjusted (usually done automatically w/new brake pads) and see if that resolves your problem. Independent mechanic > Acura dealer, FWIW.
