Paint Problem on NBP

Hi, I am new here and I had a question for you guys. I have an 04 TL NBP and lately I have started to notice couple of problems with the paint. In some spots the problem almost looks like oxidation but not really. Up close the spots are whitish in color and look like tiny cracks. I took it into detailer and he said he thinks it has something to do with a bad undercoat of paint and that I should take it into the dealership and ask that they repaint it. Though I would get some opinions before I go that far.

Heres a rough picture (couldn't get the camera to focus right)

Thanks for any kind of help!

if you run your finger over it, can you feel it? Also can you catch it with your fingernail?

It is smooth when I run my finger over them. It seems that it is coming from under the clear coat. Just within the past few months they (popping up all over the car) have started to get bigger and more pronounced.

I'm new to this forum, actually came across it searching for the exact same issue discussed in this post. I have an 04 NBP and over the past 6 months or so have been noticing these white spots crop up on the hood and roof. It's completely different from your everyday ding or scratch. It's a circular pattern and up close the paint appears to be crackling. It's extremely noticeable right after a wash/wax and to the point where I'm going to take it into the dealer to see if they will repaint it. If anyone is interested I will try and post some pics of what it looks like.

This is the exact same thing my car is doing and in the same the same areas (although I have some coming up on the trunk also). I ended up taking it into the dealership and after some fighting with the bodyshop I was sent over to they finally agreed to repaint the entire car. I guess its some kind of contamination in the base coat of the paint.

I would recommend that you go down to your dealership and ask that they repaint your car.

Is your car still under warranty? Take it to the dealer anyway at least for a proper diagnosis of the problem.
