The paint damage on this car is pretty bad, i'm assuming its due to the extreme weather conditions here in the northeast. some telling me that I have to get the entire hood painted? any idea on how much this would cost? or if there are any alternatives?
And living in the North East is a terrible excuse. My NBP TL, while not pristine, is nowhere close to that condition and I use my snow broom to remove snow from it 4-5 months a year...
Did the hood have a chip there or something before it got that bad? That won't happen under normal 'extreme weather' conditions.
The proper repair is repaint the entire hood. The cost for something like this largely depends on where you live and who does the work. It can be dirt cheap for a poorly prepped junk respray that might last, but probably wont. A high end shop thats going to prep and paint it right so it lasts can be a LOT. Or just find a junkyard hood in better condition. Might even be able to do a swap plus cash. Your paint isn't in great condition anyways.
Something definitely going on with your hood. I live in the NE as well and have an 08 NBP TL-S and while I have a chip or two here or there, my hood doesn't look like that.
