so i got this code and its the evap system shut valve, but where is it on the car? ive read you can just try to clean it and you should be good, and close the gas cap tight(i hope its this simple to fix)

 

Where is this evap canister and how do i clean it? Theres close to nothing on this site about this problem. N google has a mess of scaatered info with different cars

Got a vehicle with DTC P2422 (EVAP canister vent shut valve close malfunction)? A blockage in the EVAP
canister vent system is the likely culprit. It can slow down the venting process, causing this DTC to set.
The most commonly reported blockage—oddly enough—is a yellow sac spider’s nest in the hose, the
fitting, or both, that connects the canister vent to atmosphere. Some vehicles terminate the vent into the

frame; other vehicles don’t.

The canister is in front of the gas tank area

 

fixed the problem! simply put i put the car up on stands and took off the plastic guard covering the canister, then i just removed the whole thing to examine it, this is the part i removed,#1 canister assy(its directly under left rear seat)

pretty simple, like 5 tubes and 6 screws and pop off pins. as i was removing the cannister i noticed a tube with no clamp was off. i put it back in and reset the batttery and no CEL light any more. im good now
