Ouch. :[

Hey. Just wondering if anyone can help me out. First time accident. How much do you think it'll cost to fix this? Any suggestions as to what to do? It's coming out of my own pocket ;[. And where can I go to get it fixed? or something. Just need some ideas $ wise and what I should do... I'm so sad...

any help/suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated.

Is the actual light cracked or is that just paint?
Is the bumper actually cracked or just torn up?

It will cost more to paint that bumper because it will need sanded down first. So you will have to gauge whether buying a new bumper and getting it painted or sanding and painting that one is more cost effective.

Anything else messed up? Fenders? Hood?

Edit: Shark, justn, we should start charging you know... It's always us and a couple other people that answer 80% of questions. Lol

the headlight isnt cracked, but it looks like 30-40% of it may not be buffable.

I took a closer look at the bumper and it looked buffable but in certain areas a thin layer of paint is scrapped off.

as for the bumper... someone told me to pop it back in...but im not sure if thats possible? o.O

nothing else seems to be damaged other than what you see. ;[

Allie, you say nothing's cracked so you lucked out that way. If that's my 7 yr old car and I'm paying out of my pocket and I'm 22 yrs old and my dad didn't pay for full coverage, I'm buffing out what I can and using touch-up paint (spray/tube/whatever) for the rest. Actually, that's what I have done on my TL recently. It's not 100% but I don't care. I can get it darn close to a professional job. In your case, your dad's calling the shots. If he's just pissed but glad you're alive, I'd do the above. If he'll hound you till the day one of you dies, I'd pony up for a professional job.

Can you get a closer pic of the headlight? What do you mean when you say 30-40% may not be buffable? I think wetsanding should do the trick.

The bumper is debatable. If you can pop it back in, you might luck out and just be able to get it sanded and painted. If you're lucky, they won't even have to paint the entire bumper.

If the tab is effed, I would go new bumper route. Look at it as an opportunity to upgrade to an 07-08 bumper!

If you can afford to statistically it is cheaper to not have full coverage. By absorbing the cost yourself you are saving on admin costs and the insurance companies profit margin.
