OPTIONS! Transmission Advice?

So heres the scenario...

1: 06 used tranny with 60k on it and no warranty for $2000.
2: Full rebuild on my tranny for $2500 2yr/24k mile warranty
3: Honda Remanufactured for $3000 3yr/36k mile warranty.

what should I do?

If you have to pay for labor and you want to keep the car, go with the Honda reman'd unit.

How about using an 06/07 accord tranny. Some one did it before. And cheaper option.

rebuilt will likely have improvements that the OEM may possibly not have

Option 1, no. I would go with Acura reman and three year warranty.

I would go with option 2, maybe add some things while in there to make her bulletproof haha.

#3. That's a no-brainer.

From doing some searching around the web option 2 is probably your best bet if you have reputable transmission shop and guys who know what they are doing. A full rebuild will usually use the upgraded parts which are made available by manufacturers to most shops when common issues are found. Plus you are using the tranny that was originally developed for your car. Small variances (upgraded wheel sizes, all wheel drive, etc) can make for small issues between transmissions of the same car type. Also a remanufactured tranny may not have the upgraded parts in it. If you trust the shop do a rebuild, if you don't get a remanufacture.

I am going with the rebuild but with someone else! I am getting it rebuild with all new sensors for $3000 with a 3 yr/36000 mile warranty. Very reputable shop in San Diego at Miramar transmissions and have it pulled and put back in by RNZ concepts also in miramar san diego. Thanks for all your help guys. IF any one needs a cheap trust worthy guy here in san diego, DENNIS from RNZ concepts is the man. Gonna get my timing belt done as well with parts and everything for 400 bucks. Thanks again guys.

Option 3 sounds like best bet. As far as Accord Trans isn't the TQ converter smaller on those or at least that's what I was told. I'm sure the TL TQ converter can be used in it but who knows.

No way it is $400 normally. Unless he's not charging labor (or very little of it) cause of the transmission rebuild (doesn't seem like the same place).
