OMG!! My TL just had a freak out!!!

I'm searching the forums now but haven't found anything exactly like my problem so far. I was driving home and the car sounded like it wasn't shifting. I thought maybe i knocked into low gear so i tapped the shifter to N than back to D (Dumb but I wasn't looking). Then my car goes nuts, both VSA warning lights, check engine light and the green light next to the D started to blink! I didn't even know that light could friggin blink!
I pulled off to shut off the car and I couldn't even shift it into park. I had to turn off the car then shift to park. I figured I had to get either home or to the dealer so I started it back up with only the check engine light and oh ya, no speedometer this time. A few seconds later the VSA came back on and the D blinked again. I called the dealer, they were closed so I slowly made it home and I'm going to the dealer 1st thing.

If anyone's seen or heard of it please let me know.

the D light blinking means there is a fault in the transmission, a quick hookup to the Honda Diagnostic System will get the fault code. You may have damaged a pressure switch or some other solenoid circuit by doing that neutral drop.

seems hard to believe a neutral drop could do any major damage unless something happened that we were not made aware of, either way, best of luck bud...hope everything works out for you!

It's a typo I have the AT.

I dropped the car off, of course I was a little panicked when I left since the first question was "Do you have an extended warranty?"

I just got the call from the dealer though. In the strange but good news category it's not a major problem. The wiring harness to the tranny was eaten, which would explain why EVERY fault light went off. Total for repair $350, no parts just re-wiring and soldering back together.

PS I didn't know this, the D light on the dash is D5, not D4.

PSS I'm not the only person this happened too, I saw the same situation on another acura last night googling, I dismissed it as "no way" but guess not.

Might as well have them check your knock sensor wire while they're at it. Rodents like to munch on the lining of that wire.

$350 is a lot better than having to get a new transmission. I would have put in the good news category too.

Mine just freaked out today too. I have searched the forum but didn't see anything. I was going around an entrance ramp that was pretty bumpy, and the left interior light and the trip computer started blinking something (in orange light) too quick to read it. Is that the VSA kickin in? Kinda of an obnoxious warning! I was going pretty fast

If the interior light was on, the computer was warning you that you had a door open. If it was closed all the way, time to look at the switch at the door and do an adjustment if there is one.

The MID (aka "computer") turns to orange color when a door is opened, indicating which door is opened.

I agree with "I Hate Cars". Have your door switches checked.

Read the forum, there are several posts noting that the transmission sensors tend to go bad over time and should be replaced periodically. Not sure if this will resolve the issue but may be a quick fix.
