ok smart people i need some help

I installed some cheap fog lights in my TL and they both exploded within a month. now ive got shards of blue glass in my headlights and i cant get them out. im really trying hard not to take the headlights out. ive tried to just stick a shop vac over the fog light hole but i didnt. i also tried to make a smaller hose that went all the way into the light but that big chrome defuse blocks the entrance.

So anyone got any ideas how to get the glass out?

You have blue glass in your headlights or foglights? I assuming fogs. Perhaps removing them will gain you easier access.

Well since he has an 05 his fogs are in his headlights.

As far as what to do this is my suggestion. If you haven't already cleared out your headlights send them into the guy who is doing it and have them cleared. You can also have him ship you out some install them and send him back your old ones. Certainly check with them 1st though. But I don't see the problem as they would be taking them apart to clear them anyways.

But if thats not an option for you man up remove them off the car and shake them out.

Also see if they carry any kind of warranty on the bulbs because they may be liable for this.

they are built into the head lights on my 05. the blue glass is the glass from the fogs.

i dont have plans to clear them. i got them from $20 off ebay so i doubt i can get them to do anything. i might try something sticky on the end of a hose that i can slide into there. its worth a shot.

Ok some MacGuyver stuff for you. Find the largest piece of flexible rubber hose you can fit through the bulb opening and duct tape it to the end of a vacuum cleaner hose and hope for the best. But I think removing the bumper and headlights and shaking them out would probably be the best.

my MacGruber skills kicked in and I tried that. nada. its such a pain to try to get past that big chrome diffuser that sits in front of the fog light.

Seriously, it's not that hard to remove the headlights and open them up. I cleared out both of my headlights using only the instructions I read on this forum. I live in an apartment complex and did the whole job in my parking space using a minimum amount of basic Wal-mart tools. If I can do it, anyone can.
