Oil leak in spark plug tube

I had a misfire code come up on my 2004 acura tl with 70,000 miles so i checked the plugs come to find out when i removed the coil pack it was covered in oil. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem? I believe there is seals along the tube inside the valve cover but someone correctme if im wrong i'm hoping that is all that is wrong with it.. CAn some one help a brother out thanks in advance...

Change the entire valve cover gasket...get the whole set that includes the 6 o ring gaskets that keep oil from falling into the chamber. Clean it up and reset and hopefully that'll eliminate your misfire!

I found the culprit the seal to the coil pack was actually different than the rest and was the wrong one and was letting oil in, someone must of replaced it at one point and installed the wrong seal..Thanks for the reply though...

I take that back im still thinking that the tube seals are shot because the seal on the coil pack is more of a insulator than a seal...But it is the only seal that is different? So for thirty five bucks im going to change the seals...To be safe...

Had this many times on all sorts of cars and it was always the valve cover gaskets and spark plug hole O-Rings.

Oil in the #1 plug well only

I went and changed my spark plugs they all looked good in till I pulled number one out.
It's got 150,000 miles. It's never gotten hot as long as I've had it and it's not throwing any codes.
Did I dodge a bullet and it's only the valve cover gasket I don't see any leaks around it..

It's not EXACTLY the valve cover gaskets. Rather it's the spark plug o-rings, AKA tube seals, which are often, BUT NOT ALWAYS sold with the valve cover gasket kit. So make sure it explicitly says it includes them

It's a Honda!
I actually didn't realize my outside valve cover gasket was leaking.
Then I pulled the plugs and it was a swimming pool of oil in every one.
Not one misfire. Crazy.
This was on an S2000.

^^^^ except you don't have to reach around on the S2k lol, some time I just love the simplicity of the S2k and Honda K series.
