OEM headlights going out. HID kit conversion?
Okay so about two weeks ago i noticed my drivers low beam was turning pink.... my passenger headlight was normal. Well its going out, and flickering and is its normal color again... but like i said it goes out every once in a while. Sooooo.... my question is. Is it the Ballast or the bulb? I always do research so i would just like to know your guy's opinion. I would like to switch to a 10k HID kit. I know there are some cruddy HID that will go bad, so i would like Preferences on where to buy some good HID's. ?!

Well I like the blue tint to the stock so I figured I'd try darker but ill take your advice cause I'd rather have them brighter . What about 9k? And stock are 8k right ? any websites as well?

I think 6000K should be the max.
even 6000k you're straining your eyes to view the road.
Dont even try 8000k, that shit just fatigued my eyes trying to watch for objects in the road.
the more you go up in the Kelvin scale the more blue the color is; however you lose visibility.
I dont know about you but I'd rather see the road than "look cool"

5k for crystal white great output
6k for a slight blue tint and good looking with still great output
anything above that = and less lumens

I always see people bashing anything about 6k. I've had 12k 55w lights in my Integra, and in my TL, WITH tinted windshields and never had a problem with visibility. I've even had people sit in that car and comment on how bright the headlights were.
As for your problem, I agree that it's probably your bulb. Or, at least a good starting point. Personally, I had a stock ballast go bad. I ended up just doing a complete revamp of the stock HID's. New bulbs, ballasts, igniters, etc.
The only modification I had to make, was to chop off the stock harness and wire it up to a 9006 style headlight harness so it would plug into the aftermarket ballast.

In both Acuras the visibility was great. In my BMW I can't see shit. But, then again, I couldn't see shit with the factory bulbs either. Something about that car...
However, I did read that the 55w washed out the color.
