O2 Sensor Question

Hey guys,
I did a search on this with not too much good info. My CEL came on today and disappeared again, same thing happened a year ago. Had a buddy scan it and got p2631, 02 Bank2 Sensor 1. When the light came on the car seemed like it was hesitating (pulling timing almost). Now that light is off the car still seems like it's hesitating intermittently. Is it in my head or can an 02 sensor affect performance that much. My car and mods are in my sig.

Thanks

A bad 02 can make it run bad. A misfire can also make the ECU think an 02 is bad.

Thank you guys. It's weird, some times the car feels like it should and others very held back. I also think that my transmission is giving me more trouble than I realized. BTW IHC I have the new 3'rd n 4'th gear switches, going to do them this weekend, but I think theres more wrong than that. I now smell tranny fluid after a "spirited" drive and there is absolutely NO sign of any leaks or even weepage. So at this point I'm going to do the switches and drive it.
