Is this normal??
Is this normal??
I have a question and i dont know if this is me being paranoid or if there is something wrong. Whenever i have my defroster on or the heat it seems like it is pulling so much power from the car. When i am at a light you can actually feel a thumping when the condenser is turning on and off. The rpms dont move really, but the drain on the car seems pretty drastic.
If i am inside my house and the car is in the garage running, you can hear the condenser turning on and off while you are inside?
Is this normal for this type of car or is there something wrong. I have an 06 TL with about 49,000 miles on it so the warranty is about to end. Should i have this checked out?
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds about right to me. I have my thermostat set on auto at 72 degrees, both driver and passenger, and I can tell that the compressor is cycling on or off just by the sound of the exhaust note.
Thanks for the responses guys. So it sounds like this is normal and i have nothing to be concerned about. I just thought it was strange how noticable it is when it turns on. I was in my girlfriends accord last night and when i turned on the heat it was very quiet, nothing like my car. I guess it is just the TL??
