Noise in the front wheel
Hi,
Noticed a strange sound in right front wheel when I press on the brakes hard, it doesn't sound like a scraping noise. Had the car (08 TLS, AT ) in the dealers two weeks ago for an oil change and general check up (discount coupon ). I was told everything, including the brakes was fine, car now has 34, 754 mi. I brought the vehicle to my local mech. who took it for a spin. He heard the noise but couldn't be sure it was the brakes. The metal clip was not touching metal yet. He was buried and couldn't get to the car today. I drove to the dealership, they did a visual and said I would be needing brakes soon. I had the female mech take it for a spin, she heard the noise and said it might be a caliper adjustment or maybe I need brakes. the service advisor said about $600.00 for the brakes because they are not standard, but after market. I plan on taking it to my local mech, he is honest and reliable, just thought I would put it out there and see if the experienced guys have any thoughts, thanks.

i was hearing a noise from my rear wheels and to find out the lug nuts were loose
so try that option first....and if its not metal to metal contact then ur brake pads are doing good....in the brakes case you will hear a light to heavy grinding noise....
no comments about caliper thow....
and free bump to the thread.....
