noise from driver & passenger window
i used to be hearing squirking noise from the driver & passenger windows. lately its become louder. this noise is coming when the windows are completely close. I thought maybe the rubber side grip( which holds the windows) is not holding the windows very tight - so while driving i pushed the windows completely away & the noise definately reduced. Does it mean i hv to change the rubber lining on the windows. I hv 2004 TL & its just 15K miles- i hope the problem is not too expensive.
also does it need to be taken to a dealer
any adv would be greatly appreciated.
i love this forum. its so amazing to read everyones points on practically every minute issue as well.

1) Is the noise a rubbing or squeeking/creaking noise which is reduced if you roll the windows down just a touch, just enough to reduce seal without leaving a gap between window edge and door frame? If yes, then the dealer will use silicone lube, which might be a decent fix or just temporary. Other posters have inserted felt into/under the factory weatherstripping ("rubber lining") as well to permanently get rid of squeeks from windows. There are several threads on these noises.
2) Some posters have had noise come from the panel containing the exterior driver's side mirror; dealer will deal with that.
Do not accept "They all do that" as a response from the service department.
Hope you get rid of the annoying noise.
