No more acura for me.
Hey people. Ive been having a problem lately with my 04TL. While driving, the vsa caution light comes on as well as the "vsa" light in the center odometer. What ends up happening is that the car will hardly(no exaggeration) accleerate at all; it'll drop down to 4th gear (or lowest gear possible) and i would not even be able to manually make it go into higher gears with the sportsshift. if i come to a stop or slow down the car wont go past 10mph. its really been pissing me off and has the potential to be a dangerous situation especially if im the highway and id have to accelerate for emergency reasons.
so...what the hell is wrong with my car? has anyone had this problem before. I forgot to mention that if i pull over and shut the car off it resets the system and the cars fine...untill it happens again. Its an unpredicatable problem. please help.

Your ECU sounds fucked! Take it to the dealer and have them look at it. I doubt your car is still under warranty but, maybe they will front part if not the whole bill...depending how nice the service dept. is at your dealership. I dunno though...i've heard some bad things from the stealerships in new yawk. Good luck bruh...

thanks for the adivce people. ima try to get my car to a trusted mechanic to see if they can figure it out. i actually spoke to one already and he mentioned the same thing(ecu issue). Theres no way in hell im going to a stealership - no more warranty.

If you drive around with the VSA off, does it still do it? It could be something as simple as a wheel speed sensor. You have the same size tires all around, right?

This sounds very logical.. I know VW isn't the same car but a commom problem in them was the brake light switch would go faulty and the ECU was set up that if the brakes were on you couldn't accellerate and strain the tranny etc. and it would seem like a limp mode.
Sometimes its pretty simple fix .. I wonder if going to Auto Zone and having them scan for codes would show anything? They do it for free.

i got the check engine light too which stays on most of the time(but at the same time i did have it scanned once and it came out as bad 02 sensors, so i dont know what to think). How much did it cost you to get that replaced? can i order it from somewhere and have a non delaership palce install it?
