so recently when i try to lock my car and activate the alarm it does not work. the doors lock, but the side markers do not flash, no beep, and the alarm red flashing light by the driver side lock does not flash.
please help i really like having a beep and an alarm. and i enjoy having the things inside my car, remain in my car.

 

are you talking about with the stock remote? This is the issue I have.. not a big deal, but would be nice if I could get to work....

 

do all doors lock unlock from drivers switch? has the car been in a headon/rearend collision?

 

mite be a dumb question but are all of your doors closed properly? double check that as this is the only situation that would give me the same symptoms ur experiencing

 

all doors unlock with key fob. i figured out the passenger rear door is not locking whenever it doesnt arm, it unlocks though.
i think i need a new locking mechanism for the rear pass door, but the fact that it unlocks is baffling me.

 

replace the actuator. problem solved. and im sure that actuator doesnt even unlock the car. its always unlocked.

 

problem halfway solved, I unplugged the hood switch and.. VOILA!! It now blinks and security arms when I lock it.

The next challenge is getting my VW HORN to beep with the double tap. Yes VW HORN, i just love the way Jetta's sound when you lock them. My stock one was found dead , so I bit the bullet on a better sound instead..
