I recently had the door skins / panels (whatever you may call it) replaced on my TL Type S. See a pic of the damage that was done below.
HOwever, i notice that the door panels sounds hollow when you knock on it? It doesnt have the same "thud" like the passenger side door does? Its as if it sounds cheap and thin, however it "looks" fine..
Is it possible the body shop used a cheap door skin? is there suppose to be another piece inside it? Cause it definitely doesnt "sound" the same when you close the door .
They probably didn't reseal the skin to the beam.
If this is the case, the old sealant needs to be removed, surfaces roughed up and 3M Ultrapro autobody sealant applied at specific locations.
I've never used this, but some have used the window/door insulation foam that can be purchased at the local big box hardware store, but got to be careful as it expands quickly, and to me a band-aid solution.
