Recharge it. Buy a refrigerant with nozzle at Home depot or somewhere. Or go to a small local shop.

Google which plug it is that you put the refrigerant in. I believe it is the opening (have to remove cap) closest to the windshield, on the upper left side of the engine (when standing in front of car).

AC don't need recharging unless there's a leak... find leak first, fix it, then recharge it. Don't simply dump r134a in the atmosphere...

And then what happens when he adds too much and trips the high pressure switch? Then he won't have any A/C. Not a good idea to just go randomly adding refrigerant.

OP, I'd have a shop put gauges on the system and see where it stands. It's the logical first step. Or buy a cheap set at Harbor Freight and check it yourself.

Charge only on the low side. The cap will have a "L" on it.

Best to take it to the shop if you don't know what you are doing.

Like wear safety glass whenever working with Freon.

Buy the AC Pro set up at WalMart or any auto parts store for less than $30. It has oil, leak sealer and R134 all together. It works great.

Get the ones with pressure gauge so you don't overcharge it.
