AC issue

On a road trip today I noticed the AC seemed to stop working on my 2006 TL. Feels like a very small amount of cold air is flowing through, so I checked out the blower thinking it had probably gone out

Blower is running fine at runs at full speed, but no air is making it to the vents. What am I missing? If the resistor was bad, would the blower run?

I also pulled out the hepa filter and I will replace it, but that does not appear to be the immediate issue

I'd recharge with refridgerant. Get it with hose at home depot or somewhere. Or go to local car shop.

Hose connects to small plug in upper left of engine, (google it for a pic), the one closest to the windshield I believe.

Thanks! May have to try that.

I replaced the cabin air filter and was getting ok air flow, but still not what I expected. When I came back to the car a couple hours later to put everything back together, the AC was running great and there was a good bit of water under the car

My assumption at this point is that the AC froze over during the road trip with the low air flow from the dirty cabin filter. Definitely will have to keep my eye on it, but for now I'm happy it's working for a $20 filter

If the heat is working then it may not be the motor but if heat AND ac aren't coming through then it could be the motor or resistor like you said. I wouldn't just go around adding refrigerant willy nilly, sensor could trip with slight overage and then you're really stuck

My car does this too on longer roadtrips, it is most likely freezing over and no air can get by. If you let it sit for awhile like you did, it will melt and be ok again. Changing the cabin filter will probably have no affect on this and it will happen again. I think the only answer is to have the system evacuated and recharged.

heisohio stop telling people this, you have told this to people in a couple different threads and that is not the answer to everyone's problem, especially this one!

I am assuming you tried to change 'where' the air comes out? Defrost, floor, face, etc?
