I guess your Nav unit is going bad, you may need to replace it. But let dealer take a look at it first. Do you still have warranty?

Just got the same problem this afternoon, it was working fine when I went home and when I got back to the car to leave for the night. There it is. Sucks if this will cost an arm and a leg.

Likely a problem with the drive itself. You can send them to Alpine for repair, costs about $150.

Dealer will not repair them, only replace them, and will change you $3,000 to do it to.

Here is something worth trying. It worked on my wife's 2003 RL. Remove the DVD to clean it. Even if it appears clean, give it a wipe to remove dust.

It's an internal fault in the nav. unit.
This gen. of nav. units have issues with the laser pickup heads.

If you have warranty, slide back to the dealer.
This affects all '06 to '08's.
Should be covered under basic warranty.
Take a close look at the disc, if it has circular scratches on it, then
you need a new nav. unit and disc.

If no warranty, get your check book out!

Hope this helps
