My steering wheel shakes while braking
Im pretty sure its my rotors since i just replaced new wheels and tires and i had that same problem even before i did that. So it leaves me with brakes i guess....my only question is am i safe to drive like that i should i replace it as fast as possible... It doesnt shake much and only happens while pressing on the brake lightly at higher speeds... i have about 20 000 miles on the car and its a late 2005... im about to take a long trip and dont really have time to do it but i could if i really have to
what do u guys suggest safe or not ....

20k miles you could be ready for new pads and a rotor resurfacing to rid the shake~
Acura is well known for the warpmaster rotors they use
Many of us go aftermarket when it replacement time- there are a few excellent choices when you are ready
A brake shop can do an `on-car lathe` to cut the rotors flat and in line with the car
Its fast- you do need new pads afterwards-
Its worth it to get done before a trip- that constant shaking at low brake effort will get worse and can eventually cause lots of other damage!!!
I just found the bolt threads to mount the caliper--- stripped out on a 02 tl with rotor shake
Have to replace the caliper mounting bracket now- the bolts had ripped the threads from the bracket and metal shavings stuck to them---oooops

I would not be overly concerned about it unless it is a really violent shake. Try braking real hard and see how bad it is. If you do not have any real problems when braking hard you should be fine.

its the brake system. you need new pads and get your rotors resurfaced.
Edit: Don't race on the freeway until you fix the problem. Not that I'm encouraging you to race.

I have dealt with warped rotors for the past 10K, its not getting bad and the pads worn down. time for replacement, but I suggest that if you do a lot of highway driving that you get them replaced, you can find cheap OEM rotors from acuraoemparts dot com, I got them for around 80 each versus 122 each from the dealer.

yea, i had the same problem. mine was at 28k miles and i brought it back to dealership had them check on the vibration when brake applies on freeway. they re-surfaced the rotors and replaced new pads under warranty.
