My 2005 Acura transmission

this just started today. I was driving my dog to training and my car while on drive wouldn’t move at all. when it did move it was jumpy and would go from one speed to the next or not move at all no matter how hard I pushed the gas. I check the trans fluid and it was fine and I put oil in it and it started working correctly, the engine light even went off. However as soon as I got close to home the light came back on and when I hit the gas it did the opposite. Can someone help me out? If my transmission out I’m screwed I can’t afford to get it fixed and my job is a route job so without my car I can’t work.

It's hard to figure out what your issue is from your description, however, the first thing I would do is to check to see if you have a broken axle (kind of a low probability, but worth a check anyway). If your axles are intact, a new transmission may well be in your near future.

I’ll try to be more descriptive, my car was literally running fine I had plenty of trans fluid however it’s been a while since I got my oil changed I was planning on doing that this Friday. While I was driving back to drop my dog off my car began to jerk and at some point completely slowed down while I was pushing the accelerator it was like my car was in neutral and my engine light (a light that literally resembles a engine) came on. I put some oil in it and it started working normally but as soon as I pulled up to my house the light came back on and it started doing the same thing. The D light wasn’t blinking at all however it did that a couple of months ago but I was also having battery issues around that time. I just put 2 new fans and a radiator in it. I’m not sure what the problem is.

Also there is a price of rubber under my car that drags on the ground and for a while my car made a very loud distinctive metal dragging sound

So you say you have checked your transmission fluid levels....have you confirmed the condition or age of the fluid? When it was the last time it was replaced?
