Multiplex fusebox issue and non working electrical items

Just pulled the fuse box and opened it up to find this:

Cleaned them all up and now everything works again; key fob, running lights, drivers door power lock control, low beams, all wiper settings, etc.

I do have a weird radio issue now, see my other post.

Radio problem solved, you have to plug in all the connectors when done.

This did fix the MICU problems.

It is a bitch to get the fusebox out and back in, but if you are having issues, you will probably find corroded terminals like mine.

The MICU portion is like a sandwich of circuit boards, with the terminals going through all of them. They do come apart to make the terminal cleaning easier.

Your sun roof drain tubes are likely plugged.

That, or your windshield has a leak in the bottom driver's side corner.

Better check them ASAP.

I looked at the clear tube that goes right behind fuse box. Pulled it apart and all seemed clear. There was no evidence of water anywhere except the fuse box.

You may want to test the drain tubes by opening the sunroof and pouring some water into the drain channels, then checking to make sure that the water drips down the tubes to the ground.

Also check the A/C condensation drain line by running the A/C and checking for water dripping onto the ground. That probably isn't the problem if there was no other moisture around the MICU, though.

And how did you clean, without shorting something? I guess if its all unplugged, its OK, but then how did you dry after cleaning?

It was all unplugged and out of car on bench.

Used contact cleaner and sandpaper to clean terminals. Took the layers apart and dried off any moisture in there.

You can find electronics cleaners that use alcohol and other chemicals to clean sensitive electronics! Make sure you wear gloves when playing with electronics!
