Muffler has a hole on top? What are my options?

I noticed that my muffler has a hole on the top portion on the driver side and the passenger the metal seems like its going to break open anytime soon too.

Currently I have a straight pipe, deleted the resonator and mid muffler.
I used to like that sound, but now I find it too loud. I do have a CAI installed too.

What are my options for replacement with a decent budget without spending a fortune.

While I am in the process of changing the muffler, I would probably like to have Quad Exhaust tips on my car.

Btw I have a 04 TL Base with a Asepc kit on it and live in Canada.

Where can I buy a exhaust system?

Buy a used oem set of mufflers. It'll give you the quietness you are looking for. It'll also by your cheapest option as lot of ppl sell them

You probably find it too loud now because of the hole in the muffler thats making it slightly louder than it should be, once you replace that muffler with another OEM one you'll be good to go and it'll be a bit more quiet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think type s exhausts even fit on base tl? Would need a new bumper I think.

If you want a type s quad you would need a type s rear lip so the quads can fit perfectly

I do believe the sound is slightly different. You might be able to get lucky and find someone who wants to get rid of theirs.

No it will not fit. Someone on this forum tried to squeeze the quad tips onto their base bumper and it look like complete trash. You can cut the base bumper, put the type S lip on top if you want the quad tip look.

okay, since the Type-S options doesn't seem to make much sense anymore...

What are my other options?
1. My Current setup (straight pipe with no resonator, mid mufflers) is kinda of too loud for my liking and that rasp noise it makes around 2500rpm is annoying to me now.
2. Type-S is out of the questions now since I would have to cut my bumper
3. Maybe get a base muffler and aftermarket J-Pipe with resonator? (any recommendations)

You have a video of how that sounds?
How much would that setup cost me roughly?

- Dynomax Resonator cost about $50 bucks brand new.
- ATLP Jpipe and ATLP Test Pipe cost about $300 Used

Would that make sense?

Decided to go with this route.

Magnaflow Muffler (Part# 11365)
Dynomax Resonator (Part# 24235)

Got a deal through Tdotperformance.

Now I'm looking for Muffler Tips, need something with an Inlet of 2.25" and Diameter of 3"
Any recommendations.

Tdotperformance suggested I go with Magnaflow (Part# 35168 or 35167)

What you guys think?

I really that $67 Muffler Tip deal that was going around.

Haha... Yea i had people convince me I thought it was so loud only because my muffler was probably damaged the whole time... And this combo is just deeper and not louder.

Just gotta find these damn affordable quad tips that fit.

Wondering if there will be customs on top of all this, seems like a very expensive alternative for tips.
