Major electrical problem

So sometimes I unlock my car get and start to turn the key and the whole car loses power, nothing has electric at all open and close the the door and it has power. Last week the car was saying my back right door was open BUT when I had my seatbelt on was saying it was closed. Today I have no turn signals, and my headlights are on but no symbol on the dash and the car won't lock or unlock while on but then I turn it off and it displays the car has the headlights on on the dash and let's me lock it. Then other times I shut it off and it has no power and I have to manually lock the doors. Does anyone have any ideas what could possibly going on I'm completely stumped.

Check the battery cables and ends-- both cables can corrode, and the negative clamp tends to loosen up over time. Some members had issues with the ground side of the negative cable as well. Clean the cables or replace as necessary.

You might also consider testing the battery and getting a new one if it's more than 4 years old.

G/L.

Check for leak at sunroof into HFL module...read on a thread that if this happens it screws up all the electrics. Good luck.

I started having the loss of power on turning the key and found the door trick. Have you found the fix?

OK, found it! First thing I checked was ground battery terminal and, sure enough, it was loose. My bad: sloppy job tightening the terminal when I put the car back on the road April 1st. The problem appeared after a few weeks.
