Maintenance Minder Doesn't Count Down
Maintenance Minder Doesn't Count Down
It was about a year and 3K miles and the Maintenance Minder never went below 50%, in fact it seemed stuck there. Had the dealer change the oil and he reset the MM. After ~1K miles it is still at 100%, it does not seem to count down like my Yukon one does. Is this normal, shouldn't it show ~90% after 1K miles?
Probably - but are you driving 100 mile one-way freeway commute? at 60mph? why don't people supply more info, like car model year, miles on engine, type of driving in your case? we cannot read your mind, nor can we see your car.
Sorry..
It is a 2005 TL with Auto and Navi. I have driven about 1000 miles, mixed since the service. Mostly 7 miles freeway to work 60 to 70 and 7 miles freeway crawl home 0 to 40. The car has 87400 miles on it, the service was performed at 86300. It is still showing 100% on the maint. minder.
Before I had it serviced it was showing 50% and seemed to hang there.

drive more and with more intensity ( vtec starts at 4500 RPM and ends at redline)
i bet you'll see it decrease if you drive more and enter vtec more often.
the computer uses an algorithm to determine oil life.
it is based off of engine start ups, engine rev's, and other factors.
driving 1000 miles strictly freeway isnt going to show much change because its putting the least amount of wear on your car
