Lurching, surging, and generally unsmooth
Hi All, looking for advice on a strange issue. I have a 2003 TL-S that I bought several months ago. At first I didn't really notice but now I really notice this car is anything but smooth. Its very subtle, but it seems to surge and jerk during acceleration and also, although not as much, during maintaining speed. I took it to the dealer, who basically told me nothing was wrong except my transmission fluid needed to be replaced. No change at all. I think you need to drive it for some time to notice it.
I have a friend who thought it might be the ABS speed sensors on the front wheels feeding bad information to the computer. I haven't tried to replace them yet Another possible clue is I installed new quality pads and rotors, bled system, and even after all that the brakes still pulse when I stop. Wanted to get some other ideas. Maybe someone else has experienced this?

What color is the transmission fluid?
If it has any black tint in it, then it does need changed. It can make a world of difference. Do a search in the 2nd generation section for your 2003 and they will know the capacity and procedure for replacing it. It will probably need 3 or 4 drains and refills with some driving time inbetween.
The pulsing when you stop is likely a different issue with warped rotors.

Hi jda123, thanks for responding.
Yeah, did that at BrakesPlus and within a month it was at the Acura Dealership where they notified me it was burnt and needed to be replaced. I had Acura replace it, they did the multi flush method and charged me about $180. It did make it better, but it didn't fix the issue.
