Low profile tires..
I have a Acura TL 2004, and I have been wondering if the low profile tires effect my mileage? I have 18's and was just wondering about the mileage

Any tire/wheel package that deviates from the stock size, larger and heavier, will decrease performance and mileage. Will the driver be able to notice the difference with a 18" package without sophisticated monitoring equipment, no.
Also remember, if the diameter is larger than the OE, the speedometer will not indicate the correct speed and distance, and will affect the mpg calculation.

All in all, probably not and if you do notice any change, it will be very minimal. It’s your day to day driving habits that have the greatest affect on your mileage over the tires size.
Your rim size is not the factor here unless you stuff 19s with 40 profiles, 20s or larger under the car… it’s the overall tire diameter and that equates to tire height so it depends on how tall your current tires are as compared to the TL’s original tire. If I remember right, Tire Rack said the TL’s stock tires were P235/45R17 and that’s about 79 ½ inched in circumference or roughly 25 1/3 inches tall. Measure your tire height against the stock height and if your within about 5% you shouldn’t notice any real change to mileage or performance and the speedo will be ok. If your having trouble measuring the height, take a piece of chalk and make a mark at the bottom of the tire and continue onto the road. Move forward or back until the tire mark goes around 1 full turn and is pointing at the ground the same as when you first marked it. Measure the distance between the marks and divide by 3.14 to get the height.
Just be careful with low profile tires (35s or less), they look cool and but are really meant for track use where you want to minimize sidewall flex and comfort is not a requirement. On the street, they can translate quickly into a bent rim should you hit a pothole or small obstacle in the road. If you’re going for handling, try to put the widest tire you can safely fit on your rims and without rubbing the wheel wells.
Well, if I haven’t caused you to go blind trying read all this, here an old thread talking about the 04 tire and rim fit… https://acurazine.com/forums/archive...p/t-73983.html
