Loud power steering pump (Tried o-ring)
Hey all I have an 07 base TL with 80k miles on it my power steering is VERY VERY loud in the morning and when I start my car after it cools off. I replaced the o-ring and changed the PS fluid with OEM fluid, also the recall has been done.
My next step is to replace the pump because it is so loud it's embarassing. Before I do this is there any advice or will this even fix it? I will try to record a video of it in the AM.
Thanks

Please let us know how this works out. I assume you have isolated the loud sound to the pump itself (not the rack, etc.)
If that's the case, a simple pump replacement will definitely do it. I have not done the rebuild, but that might be a cheaper alternative. Here's the rebuild thread that might help you: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/diy-105-power-steering-pump-overhaul-pics-sm-scans-841134/. Make sure you have new o-rings in the intake and output hoses.
Good luck bro!

I haven't actually narrowed it down to the pump. When I turn the wheel from side to side it gets louder vs just letting the car idle. Either way it is still noticeably loud even with the radio on.
I'm thinking it's the pump what do you think? It's hard to diagnose because once the car warms up, there is no noise.

Mine was leaking which air bubbles got inside so when i would turn at idle or parked it was really loud and annoying.
After the resealing overhaul of the internal seals/o-rings its quiet. I though I would need a new pump which are like $450. but my uncle opened it up and resealed it. Now its quiet and no leak.

Well in any case, if its on its way out than a reseal is pointless as its incurred damage.
But if it was caught early than reseal is my suggestion as it has worked for me. Which is like $18 buck fix if you DIY.
OEM new power pumps I have found the cheapest is $423, where is a new OEM pump not aftermarket or refurbished for $112, just curious where you got that pricing.

The one listed is a remanufactured OEM product. So again price for new OEM is still in that price range in my previous comment.
But if anyone wants to save money just go with refurbished. But I'd rather buy new thats just me, I know others will disagree.

its like $19 bucks for all 6 seals/o-ring and after watching my uncle remove and open it up, it was pretty easy and quick.

Have the same issue. I brought my car to the dealer thet told me timing belt so I had it done but still noise. Change the o-ring already. Noise comes out on idle and cold start.
