Loud noise braking before I park car??

Ok. I have a scheduled appointment with my dealer this monday. My problem is when I'm turning slowly under 5mph when I'm about to park or even I make a U turn I hear this loud noise (possibly my front brakes). Its different from the sqeek noise when you brake. I have no idea what it is. You think this is a big issue? Has anyone experience a similar problem when you are turning and breaking under 5mph. Its very loud and I never had a problem with any cars I drove before. Thanks.

could be a problem with the serpentine belt.

Do you hear it when rolling or when it comes to a full stop ?

Sounds like it could be some slap on the brake pads.

Good point.

Notice any leaks underneath up front?

If it happens when you turn and max/lock the steering to either side it could be a power steering/rack-n-pinion issue. Check to ensure your power steering fluid is at the proper level. A low/dry power steering pump makes a heck of a racket.

Keep us posted

Mine happens when it's still rolling and the noise stops when I let go of the brakes.

I don't think you have the same problem as the thread starter.

If it makes noise all the time, go to the dealer - they should replace it under warranty.

I have the same issue as the original post, exactly as described. Let us know what you find out... Macruz19... I was going to report the same issue at my next service visit.

Ok, guys. I went to the dealership. I had my service rep drive the car. For some reason it would not make the noise as he slowly turned and park. I then tried driving the car and parking it. No luck. Well drove around and when we returned to the dealership it finally made that loud noise right before I came to a sudden stop. He said that this is caused by brakedust buildup. He told me if it continues we will check it out when you have your 1st oil change. He also said its not a big concern. I now have 2000 miles on my car.
