Loss of Acceleration
My Daughter-law borrowed my 08 TLS, AT. 58,300mi. to go to Rochester, N.Y. My granddaughter was in a weekend hockey tournament. Car has been running fine and nothing out of the ordinary happen on the way there. Near Rt. 9 in Albany, N.Y. the car made a popping sound, followed by a sound like a propeller spinning.she pulled over, the check engine light was on, computer stated she was losing acceleration. Another family that had traveled in a different car to the tournament stopped and assisted her. The police responded and the officer said it appear that a spark plug had come out ot the engine. AAA towed it 94 mi. to Auburn Acura, exit 10 on the Ma. Pike. I live north of Boston and have the car serviced at Acura of Peabody normally. I won't know what the problem is until tomorrow, hopefully it's minor, but it doesn't sound good. It's ironic, I was just thinking how bullet-proof these cars are, and this happens. I was ready to run this car until the 200k plateau, just have to wait and see, I let you guys know.
