The other day I went to gas up and noticed that the little metal cap that you put the gas pump nozzle through is gone. It looks like it broke off. In all the cars i've owned and all the times I have ever filled up, I have NEVER seen this. I'm assuming a fix for this is really expensive since the gas tank will probably have to get taken apart to get the missing piece. So I'm not going to do that. But what are the risks of not having that little metal piece there? Its just to keep garbage out right? So I just have to be careful when gassing up?

The 3G TL never had a flap/cap in the filler neck.
You'll find several threads in the 3G TL forum about that very subject.

the TL doesnt have a piece to cover the gas hole. its been asked a few times before already.
