LED panel installations help for 08 TL

Hi, sorry if it's a re-post but i couldn't find it.
Just bought the led panels and replaced the map lights but it keeps falling off so wonder how others are attaching them for the map lights...

Also, how do you remove the courtesy light? Don't want to break it... Thanks!

so you took the housing off, and plugged the LED's in, right? on the back of the LED squares...there is a 3M adhesive backing that you have to peel off...and then you just stick it in place. then snap the plastic housing back in place.

is that right?

Yup....installed it last night and this morning it fell onto the housing....
I was trying to search the forum to see some pics of how others have it installed but couldn't find any...

so...you did peel back the adhesive and press it on?

shouldn't really have a problem staying on at that point...3M is sticky shit.

Yup...Guess im sticking it at the wrong spot. I don't want to stick it near the housing so the it shows the 12 leds. I tried to stick it close to the original spot. Guess i'll figure something out...

My panels did not come with 3M tape. I wound up jamming one end into the slot in the reflector housing. It has stayed there for a while now.
Quick note: I bought more panels for the rear domes but they don't fit into that location---stick with the Wedge type bulbs for the rear domes.

My 15 led panels fit in the rear domes. It was a snug fit but it got in there. No troubles for me with the 3M tape. As SharksBreath said, that stuff is crazy strong.

Courtesy light as in the vanity lights? For those, they were the most troublesome. I stuck a tiny screwdriver in there, going in right side on the driver's vanity and left side on the passenger vanity. Put the screwdriver somewhere along the middle of the end, push it in and twist. I broke my driver's side one since I pushed in too much but the passenger side came out easily after I figured it out. Replacement is like $20 for the plastic piece. I haven't bothered to fix it yet.

I used 2-sided 3M foam tape.

The LED board is flat, but the map light inside surface is curved. I built up the foam tape in several peices/layers to stick the LED board on to.
