LED Fogs help

So I've been searching everywhere to try and figure out what the hell is wrong with my car. So I wanted a quick change to the ugly stock bulbs. Install was easy and the LED bulbs are currently sitting in the reflector housing, but they don't turn on. No flicker, absolutely nothing. I've read that it could be the polarity of the bulbs, and that the stock harness may be switched. Is it possible to easily re-wire the harness? I tried pulling on the wires hoping they'd just slip out but I got nervous I'd break something. I also tried both LED lights in both sides to make sure it wasn't just a broken bulb. I can't really believe they shipped two broken bulbs but who knows. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, since most the threads I found had pictures of their led fogs working and it was just plug and play.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

i wonder if you can check this with a 9V battery. try it and see if it lights up when you switch the pos/neg polarity

The polarity is most likely reversed. You can remove the pins from the housing on the cars harness side, and it won't affect the operation of halogen bulbs if you ever go back. However, it can be a bit tricky to do depending on the connector... Generally you shove a very small flat blade screwdriver into any open slots of the connector in an attempt to bend back a flap thats holding the contacts in. Or, the connector can have a plastic locking tab that you pry out of the contact and slide the contacts out, among other schemes to lock the contacts.

As far as I know, the polarity for most automotive headlamp connectors is not standardized, and LED's are polarized, unlike incandescent bulbs.

Thanks vtek. It's very likely that I'd break the harness trying to do this. Is it possible that a different LED bulb would have matching polarity with the harness? Or are all LEDs wired the same way making it impossible to have LED fogs unless I switch the harness?

Show us the end of the LED. You might be able to just flip the connector 180 degrees and plug it in...

So I opened up the led light, broke off the soldered wires, flipped the prongs then flipped the light itself, not quite sure if I had to do both, butttttt it ended up working. It only flickered though since the wires weren't soldered back. So I'm gonna get that done sometime soon and so my fogs should finally work. Thanks for the help guys!
