Leather problem
Leather problem
I had a weird problem yesterday and want to see if anybody else experienced the same.
Upon leaving work, it was in the low 90s and just starting to rain. Actually I kinda hurried into my car (04 TL with black leather seats) as some big rain drops started to fall. I drove about 30 minutes and stopped for gas.
As I twisted to get out of the car, I heard/felt a kind of tearing noise from the seat back. There was a quarter sized spot about 3-4 inches up from the bottom where some of the black leather had been torn off and the brown leather underneath showed through. Sorry for not having a picture. Later I found what appears to be the matching pattern on my leather belt where it looks like the seat came off and stuck to my belt!!
Before searching this site, I was thinking that some rain had hit my belt and caused it to stick to the seat but after seeing the other posts regarding melting seats I'm starting to wonder.
Has anyone else had a problem with things sticking to the leather?
Could this be considered 'the melting leather problem'?
What do you think the dealer will say when they see it?
