Leather Cracking!!!

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have 2005 TL with black interior. The leather is cracking already. I know it is soft leather and it tends to do that, but do any of you guys know of a solution? Via leather products ect. Anything to slow the process down would be great. Thanks.

When you detail your car treating the leather as well will slow the cracking process. Soft leather requires alot more maintance

Thanks. I will try it out.... Do you guys clean it first, then condition it? I heard that works best. I usually just condition.

For the first application on the seats (or after a really long time) I clean it with cleaner then condition it. I condition the leather 1 a month for 2 months, then the third month clean it up. This keeps the leather clean, but will not bleach it or dull it down quickly.

I use the conditioner like once a week and the cleaner like once a month, just to keep my leather in top condition!

Leather - Parchment

I recently noticed some small leather cracks on the driver's seat of my 05 TL which is two years old with 30,000 miles. Some observations:

- The leather on my son's 03 TL seems more durable with no cracks after five years and 65,000 miles.

- He and I typically clean and condition the leather three or four times a year. Apparently, that's not enough for the softer leather in the 05 TL.

- My parchment leather shows the cracks very readily. I would guess that the ebony leather hides them which is probably not a good thing and reason enough to condition them once a month to prevent future tears.

- If my leather continues to deteriorate, I'll make a warranty claim.
