Leaky windshield problem.
Hi all, I've got an issue with my windshield. I am pretty certain the leak is at bottom of windshield on driver side just behind steering wheel under the dash. I can feel wettness on top of the center under dash panel and driver side floor gets soaked when raining. I'm scared its going to cause electrical damage under my dash. Makes me mad that previous owner didn't say anything about it and he had to of known about it. I am certain the windshield is not original and whoever installed the new one didn't seal it properly. I live in Florida where a replacement windshield is covered with no fault Ins. But will they replace it for this reason or should I just throw a baseball at it and make a claim. (You didn't just see me type that) haha Please help!!!!

Sorry I just want to post. A buddy of mine has a Honda and just had his windshield replaced due to the fact that he was leaking in his car. He was driving when a rock hit his windshield and cracked it, if you get my drift. When they came out to replace his windshield, Safelite had found that the oold window was put in incorrectly. It took them three hours to replace the window. In His case they actually had to break the window out. They found a lot of rust on the under it due to the fact that it was not put in correctly when it was replaced. This was a used car so he did not know. When they take out the windshield they do not need to break it. They use a wire giud that cuts through the old sealant in the window comes out in one piece. My guess is that you're old when she was the one we have on the car now it's not incorrectly. As for the law in the state of Florida as long as you have current Sherance you are not allowed to drive with a cracked windshield and under Florida insurance law they will replace it at no cost to you. They will use aftermarket class. No worries though as the replacement class will be the same thickness as the mention of the windshield of the car.

Thank you for all the replies. Unfortunately in Florida if you have comprehensive coverage the glass is free. Just having no fault cov. gets you nothing. So looks like im screwed! I think I might just go get a tube of sealant and try to fix it myself. but getting at the bottom of the windshield is going to be a task. The cowl does not look like its easily removable. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Yes I did forget to mention just having no fault insurance isn't enough you have to have coverage. Not that I would do this but you could get coverage get new glass and then delete coverage back to normal
