Hey guys I have an 06TL Auto 46,000 miles. This morning getting on the highway I punch it into VTEC got up to about 80mph when the tranny went to switch to 4th gear it made a knocking sound near the front where the engine bay is. I played with the manual on the way to work and noticed that it only made the knocking sound when switch above 4,000rpm anything below it no knock. The transmission didn't slip or feel like it thumped into gear or anything just that single knock when it switched gears. I am do for an oil change getting that first thing in the morning. Just dunno what it could be. A friend told me it could be the tranny when switch at that high of rpm. Any thoughts would be helpful. I'm fully covered up to 100,000 miles anyway.

I just got home and tested the car in neutral. It still kind of knocked as soon as it hit 5,000 rpm I'm thinking maybe its because I need an oil change I'm at 15% and I didn't here or feel anything until today when Service Due came on at 15% hopefully it's just the oil level.

I hate cars

Nothing to do with the oil.

I would start by looking at the mounts.

Thanks for the response guys. Are motor mounts covered under warranty? I've only put 15,000 miles on the car, but I did get the 100,000m 7yr warranty.

I went to Firestone today. Awesome service by the way. Got the oil changed, tires rotated. I got back onto 95 no knocking at all. I beat it pretty hard in manual every gear switch nothing. Maybe I was just low on oil?????
